I think that most wedding photographers dream of shooting a Martha Stewart Wedding, Martha may not have been invited to this one but it sure felt like she should have been there. This nautical theme wedding in Lake of the Woods was both beautifully and unique, making it one of my favorite weddings of 2008. Alli planned each detail perfectly, the touches of navy and yellow were tastefully displayed throughout, from Andrew’s fantastic J. Crew tie to the beautiful yellow sail boat parked by the dock. The gorgeous island and surrounding lake was the perfect backdrop for the wedding, and the newly constructed boat house where the ceremony took place couldn’t have been more grand. The guests enjoyed freshly shucked oysters, and champagne post ceremony, creating great opportunity for some candid shots. For sure the dog in the captains hat was one of highlights for me\- super funny! The pressure was on for this shoot knowing that Alli herself was a photographer and actually shot Rachael & Brian’s wedding, so I was super happy when she told me how much she loved her photos.
