where to begin, but at the beginning. mairen met nick on a bus. true story. ‘what a lovely australian man’ and ‘how nice that he’s a budding photographer’. Mairen introduced Nick to me and that summer he came out as our 2nd photographer on a few gigs and it was plain to see that he was mucho talented. mucho. very soon after he and Lindsey decided to move to Australia and start up Skipping Stone Photography. The rest, as they say, is history.
so here we are years later, asked to photograph their nuptials. oh boy. it’s daunting to photograph a friend’s wedding. it’s doubly daunting to photograph a photographer’s wedding (and a fantastic one at that)! Mairen and I poured our hearts into the preparation of their Big Day and happily worked our tokus’ off for this sweet sweet couple. Mother nature reigned supreme and Lindsey’s unbelievable design skills paid off in spades to pull together the most intimate, creative and super fun wedding you can imagine. the whole day seemed to have this golden halo over it. But, of course, all these variables would be moot if it weren’t for them. And I mean ‘them’ in the respect of two people who are so madly in love, so kind to one another, so easy to laugh and so often gave each other that moony eyed look. We were just lucky enough to be witnesses to it & capture it as best we could.
