Sasha & Joshua, May 17, 2009
Photos by Rachael with Brian as my second.
You would think that now, as the wedding season draws to a close that all of the 34 weddings after this one would blur together in one big happy day. Not so. There are always a dozen little things that stick out from each wedding & there’s always one moment that’s especially significant to even little ol’ me.
Sasha & Joshua are incredibly kind, lovely people, as were all of their friends & family. Their wedding was classy & comfortable with a black & white twist (thus the predominance of b+w images). They truly adored one another & it was easy peasy to photograph them looking so in love. It was a superb day.
And the best part, well my favourite part anyways, was the moment they walked into the tent when the celebration officially began. It was an wonderful uproar of great joy! Often the applause or cheers will fade away before the couple is seated. This was the longest, loudest “hooray, you’re married” group greeting I’ve ever heard, and yes being the sap I am, I must admit it made me a little teary. Luckily I could hide behind my camera with no one the wiser.
