Unique and carefully crafted slow fashion knitwear clothing brand, created of fabric using a flat bed knitting machine.
Knit Slip is a Winnipeg based knitwear brand started in 2020. Fabric is created with domestic flatbed knitting machines, a medium that is somewhat a relic of the 80s and 90s but has been experiencing a serious renaissance. All sewing and embroidery is done by hand. The knitting machine is a handcraft and while it does speed up the knitting process it gives the user a lot of freedom to create.
I create fabric using a flat bed knitting machine, hand sew and embroider each piece. I have been knitting and sewing since childhood thanks to my mother and my mother’s mother.

My name is Robyn and I grew up wearing mostly handmade clothing; knits from my Grandma and clothing that my Mom sewed. Thanks to them, I learned to sew and knit at a young age. I started to make my own patterns and found a lot of success with a tank top around the time of the first lockdown back in April. I was swiftly laid off and able to use my free time to develop my designs,
eventually making the transition from hand knitting to the knitting machine. I aim to make unique and carefully crafted knits that will be as treasured as the clothing that was made for me by my mother, grandmother, and great grandmother
